Put the Contact Lenses in the Cold Storeroom

Posted in Contact Lens Guide, Eye Health Care on November 21st, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

Recently, I discovered a very strange thing when I went to my friend’s house to discuss with her the detail of traveling. My friend was a fashionable girl; she always tried different kinds of new things before many others. Sometimes, when I talked with her, I came to know many modern products which had just came to the market. Recently, she began to try a new kind of contact lenses.

As is generally known, when the contact lenses were worn for a long period at one time, the eyes may feel uncomfortable. So she often took off the contact lenses after she returned home from the outside. But one thing was very puzzling at least for me; she put the lenses into the medicinal liquid and then put the little box into the storeroom of the refrigerator.

When I asked her about this, she told me much knowledge about how to protect the contact lenses. She said that as it was in the summer, the weather was very comfortable for the birth and living of the different kinds of bacteria in the atmosphere. And the contact lenses were very easily infected by the bacteria actually. Whenever there was some unhealthy thing on the lenses, it might do harm to the eyes.

So she chose to put the contact into the storeroom of the refrigerator, together with the medicinal liquid. As it was not likely to give birth to various kinds of bacteria in the cold atmosphere, this method seemed to be effective.

She also added that when it was time to take the contact lenses out again, we should always try to clean the lenses’ surface carefully. It was not very healthy to put on them directly after taking out them from the refrigerator. The process of killing the bacteria should still take place.

When I heard this, the first thing that came into my mind is that it was sincerely complicated for me. This kind of thing was probably only designed for those like my friend.

Contact Lenses? NO!

I don’t know when the contact lenses start to become a trend, but as far as I know there are a lot of problems they can bring to the ones who wear them.

My friend, Thomas, likes wearing contact lenses. He has quite an abundant collection of them. He tells me that contact lenses make him look nice and handsome, and he has been trying to persuade me to wear them too. However, recently, he has suffered a lot because of the little stuff.

Yesterday morning, he went to work as usual. But on his way he was collided by someone, which made him lose both of the pair of the lenses. Therefore, he went on the wrong bus, went to the wrong place, and was late totally for 2 hours. His boss was just mad at him.

Still yesterday, he had to meet an important customer who was the key deciding whether he had the quality to be promoted or not, but he missed it. They should have the appointment at 2:00 p.m., but when he got to his office at 3:00 p.m., his secretary told my friend that was over.

I felt sorry for him when he told me all the horrible things happened in just one day only resulted by a pair of contact lenses. I really didn’t know what to say except telling him to wear frame eyeglasses, because he could pick up them next time if he collided with someone else.

Poor Thomas reminds me of another friend of mine, Shirly, who loves everything that can make her pretty, including wearing contact lenses. But she, just like Thomas, had an awful day, too. One day in last month, she was going to give a speech for her final examination. Unfortunately, thirty minutes before the speech she lost her light blue pair of contact lenses. She could see the entire world vaguely, including the cards she had prepared for the speech. Afterwards, she told me that she was too nervous to remember a single word of the whole passage which she had worked hard for so much before. She was sad that day all the time when she was together with me because she only got a D from her professors.

I don’t like contact lenses. I think it’s too inconvenient. Besides, it’s rather horrible for me to put something into my eyes. Now, I have known the stories which have happened to my friends. It is clearly for me that I will never wear them. I like the frame eyeglasses. I have a very large collection of them, all kinds and all colors. Everyday I make a change of wearing them according to my mood. That’s interesting for me, and I believe the red pair in my collection which is my favourite just can bring me luck.

For one time of the above-mentioned step, the glasses will not have mist for about three hours successively. This method is helpful for a short time.

The reason why this method is useful is that there is axunge as ingredient in soap, which can form a velum so as to avoid the steam to be covered on the lenses.

And there is also a kind of anti-fog agent in the market. They do not harm the skin and have many functions like anti-fog, protect the vision, anti-frost and cleaning the lenses. Laser Treatment of Myopia

Posted in Eye Health Care on October 23rd, 2009 by admin – 3 Comments

People all want to have a pair of beautiful eyes. However, if people get near-sighted, they have no choice but to put on the prescription eyeglasses. Thus some people do not like the eyeglasses on their faces and want to take them off from the faces.

Some people choose the contact lenses to get rid of the contact lenses. It is a good way since the contact lenses are invisible for people and some kinds of contact lenses can make your eyeballs look larger and have color that let your eyes look more beautiful. While there are some other people do not like the contact lenses. They like to choose laser treatment of myopia. The laser treatment of myopia can help you put off the glasses forever and you even do not need to wear the contact lenses. They may think the wearing of contact lenses is inconvenience and cannot solve the problem in root. So they turn to laser treatment for downright solution of myopia.

According to the statistics, students and civil servants are people who do this operation most. For the students, it maybe happened for the reason that they want to be beautiful. They can do the makeup if they put off the glasses. For the civil servants, the reason might be the demands of occupation. The doctors in Russia invent this kind of treatment in about the middle of 1970s. Till now, the operation has cured around millions of people of myopia.

Thought many people have solved the eyes problem through laser treatment of myopia, there are some requirements for people who are trying to implement the operation. For example, people who are above 18 years and below 50 years old are better to do the operation. The reason is that young people’s eyes are not fully developed. People who have the problem like cataract are also not good for the operation.

While the operation seems like magic, most people suggest do not do it. If the operation fails, you might be blind all your life. The results are too much for people. And there might be side effects after the operation. Some countries even call the operation off since they think the disadvantages of the laser treatment of myopia are more than the advantages of this operation.

So for common people, the doctors suggest that it is better to wear the prescription glasses for near-sighted problem. Before you are having the laser treatment of myopia, think twice about the possible results.

With the development of technology, there are kinds of eyeglasses for you to choose. Some of you like to wear contact lenses rather than frame eyeglasses, for it looks beauty. However, frame eyeglasses are better. They are better for your eyes.
Though contact lenses have a history for about one hundred years, and till now they meet the physical requirement of your eyes, they are the eyewinker which put on your cornea. Every time you blink your eyes, your contact lenses will move a little bit, and then you will feel the sense of friction because of eyewinker, your eyes are very dry and they are easy to tear and even congest. And if you wear contact lenses for a long time, you may suffer from conjunctivitis. Therefore, as a teenage, it will be a better idea for you to wear frame eyeglasses. After all, you are a student that every day you have to read something and do some work, wearing a pair of contact lenses your eyes are much easier to feel tired. Once this happens, it may influence the efficiency of your study and the quality of your vision. In the event you actually suffer from pseudomyopia, it is quite possible that it will come into real myopia. So students have to wear frame eyeglasses rather than contact lenses.
As for adults, you also need to wear frame eyeglasses rather than contact lenses. Every day you are supposed to work for eight hours or more. If you wear a pair of contact lenses to go to work every day, it is undoubted that your strength will become worse in a short time. In addition, if you feel uncomfortable when you are at work, it is discommodious for you to change another pair of frame lenses, except you take your frame eyeglasses to your company every day or every time you buy three pair of eyeglasses, one pair of contact lenses and two pairs of frame eyeglasses. However, if you do this, you have to pay much more money for them. Thereby, it will be a better idea for you to wear frame eyeglasses.
No matter what you do or who you are, choosing to wear frame eyeglasses is always a wise choice for you. Wearing contact lenses, the strength of your eyes will be worse and worse, what’s worse, you are easy to suffer from some eye diseases while wearing frame eyeglasses your strength will be better and better or at least won’t be as bad as you wear contact lenses, and the probability for you to suffer from some eye diseases is very small. Anyway, choosing frame eyeglasses is your best choice.

—Hey, did you get contacts?
—No.
—Your eyes are black the last time I saw you, and now, they look like golden brown.
—Yeah I know, it’s the…the fluorescent.

Boys and girls, do you still remember those lines between Bella and Edward in the most popular movie Twilight? Yes, in that scene, Edward was trying to get to know something about Bella when she raised this question to him. Unexpected and a little frightened, Edward had to leave her for a moment for the reason that he could not tell Bella the truth that he is a Vampire.

That’s just the charm of a famous movie which you can never imagine how powerful for it to influence people. But I know since the debut of the movie, contact lenses especially colorful ones regained their popularity regardless so many bad comments because many people think contacts could do lots damage to the eyes. It has been estimated that 125 million people use contact lenses now worldwide.

Then, what’s the secret of colorful contact lenses?

Colorful contact lens is the general definition of corneal contact lens with colors in the lenses. As a matter of fact, they were first used to cover the flaws in the eyes of people with eye damages. Then with time went on, they were gradually put in use as the cosmetics of actors and actresses in movies and films and finally they become even popular and gained great popularity in our everyday lives.

Nowadays, colorful contact lenses, with their unique charms, have already conquered lots of people. They no longer confine themselves to the former function of correcting visual acuity, but a hot mean in the cosmetic market of decorating oneself and showing one’s characteristics. It’s really a fashion for young people now to wear some colorful contacts like deep blue, fashion-forward green, fantastic purple, etc.

But take care! Although colorful contacts are quite popular now, we still have to face some existing problems. Because those contacts are plated with colors with net ultra-microstructure, the colors will clog some air holes and block off the exchange of eyes with oxygen and water in the air. As a result, it’s wiser for you to wear those color contacts just as a way to make up!

How to select contact lenses?

Posted in Contact Lens Guide on August 31st, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Nowadays, more and more people are turning to the contact lenses due to different reasons. Currently, on the market there are many brands of the contact lenses. Theses kinds can be divided into various brands and different types according to the different performances. Since each kind of lenses has different characteristic, the diversification of species and functions brings difficulties to the consumers when choosing the contact lenses. Then which kind of the contact lenses is better?

First of all, when choosing the lenses, we must pay attention to that if the brand has the registration card of the National Food and the Drug Administration. The State Food and the Drug Administration adopt the ISO international standard to carry out the various functions of the lenses. For example the test of the damage to the cornea of the lenses, the test of the grinding process of the lenses, the use of the materials, the test of the water content of the lenses and the permeability, etc. Therefore, general speaking, the quality of the brand is guaranteed.

Secondly, the degree of the lenses, the size, the materials and the using time should also be taken into consideration when choosing the contact lenses. Many people think that the degree of the spectacles and that of the contact lenses are exactly the same. So they often purchase the contact lenses according to the degree of the spectacles. In fact, it’s wrong to do so. As to the same eye, the degree of the contact lenses and that of the spectacles are different. The higher are the degrees, the more obvious is the difference.

And then the size of the contact lenses should be determined according to the size of the black eyeball. If the people’s black eyeballs are big, they should choose the lenses of relatively big size. On the contrary, those whose black eyeballs are small; they’d better turn to those smaller lenses.

Well, there are still a lot of things you need to pay attention to when choosing the contact lenses. Remember that, the contact lenses are different from the eyeglasses with frames and they need more special attention

Be careful with contact lenses

Posted in Contact Lens Guide on August 28th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Since contact lenses were brought to us, it has acquired its great popularity among many people. With it, we are able to see the world clearly; with it, we don’t need to worry about the awful looking only because of a big pair of eyewear on the nose; with it, we can do things more conveniently; with it, we have one more magical way to make our eyes more appealing. However, then there is the most important point: it don’t help to wear contact lenses in the long term and even it can be a hazard. The following is about four tips from the experts.

Firstly, it is likely to increase the degree of myopia thus doing harm to one’s image. It is difficult for the contact lenses to have the exact refraction degree required as a result which the degree of myopia will be unknowingly enhanced as the time passes by. What’s worse, it can make your eyes look dull and grey which has a bad effect on your personal image.

Secondly, it may lead to tiredness and even dry eye syndrome. If you wear contact lenses for long, it will cause fatigue of eyes easily. To be worse, many eye diseases are likely to come to you.

Thirdly, it is the cause of eye allergies. Contact lenses can absorb the protein, lipid and collagen in the tears and leave them on the surface of the lens which is the source of many harmful bacteria. Syndromes such as corneal edema, allergic reaction and so on are just caused by it.

Fourthly, it is a factor of speeding up the aging cornea. Statistics show that if one begins to wear contact lenses at the age twenty, ten years later your corneal endothelial cell density will be the same as a sixty-year-old which makes you unavailable to any eye operation.

Of course there must be a lot of other harm about contact lenses. So, we should really pay more attention to our eyes and be more careful with the contact lenses. Above all, eyes are the paradise of our mind, right?

Prevent the Contact Lenses from Being Damaged

Posted in Contact Lens Guide on August 13th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

These days, my brother decided to buy a pair of contact lenses, which I dare not use until today. My eyes often have some problems, since I use them too long at a time. His lifestyle is completely different from mine; I use the computer, television, mp4 and some other technological products, more often than him. So he chose a pair of contact lenses and had it checked almost without any efforts.

Many friends of mine have suffered from some kind of serious eyes problems ever since they used this modern product. As we all know, the lenses are put almost on the surface of our eyes, so whenever there is some damage to the lenses, they will do the harm to our eyes, which are very weak in resistance to infection.

Apart from the eyes’ infection, the contact lenses may be polluted in many ways. The first is the pollution from the outside world, especially from the air. When we take off the contact lenses, the careless placing of them may have a high chance of making them polluted easily by the dust and mist from the air, or some other chemical products in our daily life.

Also, our eyes themselves vent some rubbish everyday, if we wear the contact lenses for a long time, the protein or some other secretions may attach to the lenses. The last one is very serious, if we don’t take it carefully, it may do the harm to the eyes easily, that is, the various kinds of bacteria’s damage. The bacteria can come from the air, our hands or just from the objects the lenses attach to everyday.

I told all this to my brother, who seemed to have never suffered from the eyes problems as me. But he still promised to pay special attention to the use of the contact lenses, since it was possible to do some serious harm to our eyes if we don’t care much.

The Protection System of Contact Lenses

Posted in Contact Lens Guide on August 11th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

When I chatted with my friends, we came to a conclusion, that was to use a pair of contact lenses was generally very easy, but how to protect it was really a problem. Together with the lenses, I also bought a large bottle of medicinal liquid, which was said to be very important for the lenses’ using length, if it is used properly.

But actually, I didn’t know much about how to protect this kind of new product, so the next time I went to the shop, I asked the seller, who gave me many recommendations about how to protect the contact lenses. Since there’s not a perfect system, the most important thing is to make the system agree with personal habits and physiological system.

There are many kinds of medicinal liquid on the market, but some people may find that not all of them can be really used; some of those medicines will do great harm to the eyes if used improperly. But the most important thing is to check whether the medicinal liquid has been proved by the sanitation department, and also, if the liquid may cause allergy or stimulation to the eyes.

Some other functions of the medicinal liquid can be found on the usage direction part easily, such as the ability of reducing bacteria and getting rid of protein, and some other secretions of the eyes everyday. And some functions can only be found by everyday use of the customers, for example, the real capacity of cleaning, which will make the eyes uncomfortable if it is used wrongly.

Since this is also a kind of product, we should always pay attention to its normal use, like whether it is convenient to clean the contact lenses easily. There are so many brands selling medicinal liquid, so the price is also one’s concern.

Actually, all these are not really complex, since they are all related with personal health, we had better spend enough time on it.

The contact lenses are becoming more and more popular in this world for the convenience they brought. When people wear them, they do not have to concern about the related problems. However, there are still some people do not set their hearts at rest when wearing contact lenses. They are correct, wearing contact lenses need to care about many things. In conclusion, people who have contact lenses should aware the protection of your contact lenses.

As to contact lenses solutions, some of the hydrogen peroxide solution has only one function while some others have all the functions, which are also called as multi-functional hydrogen peroxide solution.

The contact lenses are put in the hydrogen peroxide solution when they are not used. So the maintenance of the lenses depends on the quality of the hydrogen peroxide solution. After you use the contact lenses, you first have to clean them by using your finger gently. Then, the next step is disinfections. Afterwards is the rinse. The last one is conservation. You have to make sure that the contact lenses are wholly immerged in the hydrogen peroxide solution. Your hands have to be clean during the whole process.

While you do not use the hydrogen peroxide solution, do not put them under the sunshine, or the hydrogen peroxide solution will go metamorphosed. And you should remember that the hydrogen peroxide solutions are used for protecting the contact lenses rather than people’s eyes. So do not use them as your eye drop.

Though contact lenses are popular among young people, there are still some kinds of people who cannot wear contact lenses. For example, people with problems like cataract, trachoma, glaucoma and keratitis and many others. That is the reason why you have to check your eyes condition after you enter into the glass shop for the assurance of you can wear the contact lenses. These kinds of people have to use eye drop in their daily lives for improving their eyes condition.

All in all, you have to aware the protencial dangerous situations when you decide to wear contact lenses. Though they can bring you convenience and beauty, they can bring you harm too. It is good for you to change the hydrogen peroxide solution for every several months. If you do not relax about your eyes, you can go for a checkup in the hospital or the glasses shops. I think they can provide you better suggestion.

3. Put the contact lenses on the right hand’s fingertip and use the middle finger of the left hand to open the upper eyelid gently. Then use the hand that holds the lenses to open the lower lid gently. At this time, the eyeball exposes bigly. And just then paste the lenses lightly in the ocular region of the eyeball. After the lenses bumping into the eyeball, loose the hand so long as looking downward. Through this way the lenses can arrive the right place.

Aspheric Eyeglass Lenses

Posted in Contact Lens Guide on May 14th, 2008 by admin – 3 Comments

Aspheric Eyeglasses Lenses

It should be well known that the aspheric eyeglass lenses is important for optometrists to provide better vision to their patients.

Althrough aspheric eyeglass lenses are thinner and of less weight, provide better off axis performance.? Because through a wider portion of the lens, aspheric eyeglass lenses allowe increased visual acuity.

Aspheric eyeglass lenses are just lenses varying slightly from a fine, spherical shape. But why are aspheric eyeglass lenses so important to an optician when designing a lens?

When designing a lens an optician has to deal with a few aberrations to design a lens that improves the patient’s sight. These aberrations include spherical aberration, coma, radial astigmatism, curvature of field, and distortion. These five aberrations collectively are just known as? Seidel Aberrations described by Ludwig Von Seidel in the 1850’s.

Why aspheric eyeglass lenses can correct the spherical aberration. Here is an example: It can be shown in the picture that when the eye is looking straight ahead the ray has a shorter distance to focus than if the eye was rotated to look through the periphery of the lens.We must account for this change in vertex distance,or distance between the lens and eye, otherwise we will be out of focus when viewing objects through the periphery.

And the change in curvature can be used by aspheric eyeglass lenses to accommodate for the change in distance. And with the designed aspheric eyeglass lenses, the patient can have much improved sight through the periphery of the lens right now.

This is just why designed aspheric eyeglass lenses became more and more popular in our daily prescription eyeglasses wear.
